Cube sprite theory

So far I’ve found a cube punk, cube earth, and cube Batman. The punk and Batman I’ve found wandering around in different spots of the map in the storm. The cube earth came from a chest on the edge of where storm was coming in and I saw it pop out and literally disappear. I was so mad, then storm came and I started to leave and then it just reappears like oh hello. So I’m convinced the cubes like storm which makes sense since they do their boost power thing in relation to being in storm.
