When do you think we'll start to see more black people in STEM fields, chess competitions, spelling bee competitions, and math & science Olympiads?

It's pretty obvious that black Americans excel in entertainment, music, and athletic sports. But when it comes to things like chess, math and science Olympiads, Nobel prize winners, STEM awards, international science competitions, they're nowhere to be found or exceedingly rare.

If you look at the 67th International Math Olympiad competition, for instance, 7 East Asians (3 Chinese, 2 Chinese Americans, one British Chinese, and one Korean) achieved perfect scores. Nearly 700 students from over 110 countries competed in this Olympiad.

What is it going to take for black people to be seen in these types of competitions?
