Would a meetup connecting foreigners working in Korea be useful?

💬 Discussion

I’m Korean and have been living in the U.S. for more than a decade. Looking back, one of the biggest challenges wasn’t just adapting to a new country—it was figuring out how to build a career as a foreigner.

I was lucky to meet people in the Korean expat community who had gone through similar experiences. Hearing their stories about finding jobs, navigating workplace culture, overcoming challenges, and building their careers was incredibly helpful. More importantly, it reminded me that I wasn’t alone in figuring things out.

I’d love to organize a casual meetup in Korea where foreigners who are new to Korea can connect with people who have already gone through the experience of working here. The idea is to share practical advice, career stories, lessons learned, and both successes and failures.

I’m curious if there’s interest in this kind of meetup. If you’re a foreigner working in Korea, what kind of advice or support did you wish you had when you first started your career here?

I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences.
