St. PATRICKS DAY

So from what I understand St. Patricks day is pretty big here lol. My boys want to plan a trip up to visit for the festivities. With St. payricks day being on a Wednesday next year do yall historically celebrate fully as a city on that day or the closest weekend? When I live in Savannah GA they always just picked the closest weekend and did it there but idk if its different here cause Evacuation day aswell?
