Ascendency question

Hey guys, first time playing poe2, I'm LVL 64, almost thru the interlude and decided to go back and do my second ascendency at trial of sek, got to rattlecage and we died at the same time. First death, had option to resurrect at checkpoint, but couldn't get back in at all, what am I doing wrong?
