Why doesn't Doom the Dark Ages have multiplayer?

I've never been a fan of multiplayer, why do you think the latest Doom doesn't have any multiplayer components?

Development issues or development optimization decisions?

And why is Doom The Dark Ages more buggy than the others? Sometimes I find myself with buggy objectives or broken animations in combat.
