Is there hope? pelvic floor dyssynergia
I’m 14 months postpartum and I’ve been dealing with pelvic floor issues since giving birth. After I have a bowel movement, I often feel this uncomfortable fullness/pressure in my rectum like something is still there, even when my stool is soft. Sometimes I also get spasms or tight feelings around my vagina and anus, and it seems worse when I’m sitting. I was told I have a small rectocele and pelvic floor dyssynergia, and I just completed my second biofeedback session. My therapist is teaching me to expand my belly, breathe, and direct the pressure downward while relaxing my pelvic floor, but I’m still struggling with the sensations. This has honestly taken such a toll on me mentally because it’s been going on for over a year, and one of my biggest fears is eventually needing rectocele surgery. Has anyone had similar symptoms postpartum and improved with biofeedback/pelvic floor therapy? How many sessions did it take before you started noticing a difference? I would really love to hear some success stories, especially from anyone who was still having problems a year or more postpartum.
