Outside of New Orleans

Looking for recommendations for great places to eat outside of New Orleans, on the way to Whitney Plantation or the Honey Island swamp. Would also consider driving a little out of the way if there’s something we shouldn’t miss. Places to buy good sausage and boudin would be great as well. Thanks in advance!
