my friend keeps calling me cute and i’m going insane

ok so i’ve got a friend and we’ve been messaging each other for a few months now (we know each other irl it’s just we live a few hours away from each other and neither of us have cars so we resort to messaging and calling). as of around last month this friend has started calling me cute, but it’s gotten to the point where anything i do she will comment on me being cute, or calling me “the cutest girl ever”. i’ve asked her “what makes me cute? like what am i doing to elicit that reaction” and she will just say “idk but you’re just so cute”. i do tend to tell her “ur cuter” or like “you’re the prettiest girl in the world” and we have some “no you” back and forths but i feel like im going crazy

like every convo we have she will mention how cute she finds me. and it’s like. it’s nice and all but idk if she’s just being very much a. girls girl or if she’s potentially hinting at smth? she also calls me the prettiest girl and refers to me as hers. like she calls me “my [my name]”. it’s kind of driving me nuts because i wouldn’t mind if she did like me??? it als doesn’t help that she might be my first ever crush (im aroace and i very much lack any attraction to others) and i just needed to get this out because i genuinely dk if me thinking she might like me is me being irrational.
