I don’t know what to do…

Ok long story short, my family have been looking into marriage for me however I’m a bit confused. When I am trying to get to know someone after only around 10 days, my mum is complaining that she doesn’t like this idea of talking to them although she is being informed every time. Whenever I try to ask her what the issue is with that as I don’t see anything wrong with it if we both have the right intentions and my family is being informed every time I communicate, she gets defensive but has no actual answer. This has happened more than once now so I’m giving up even though it is my family’s idea to begin with and I didn’t ask for them to start this process. It just feels a bit embarrassing. All honesty, I have given up but I’m just confused what could she be thinking as she doesn’t explain herself.
