Any ideas about rash on my dog?
We noticed a rash on our dog last weekend and it seems to have grown a little bit. He’s protective over it but not licking it or trying to get at it. For context, he’s generally very anxious and not chill with too much belly petting so I’m not sure if the protectiveness is related to the rash or not. No changes in eating, drinking or playing.
We were thinking it might be some kind of dermatitis. We recently bought him a new blanket but it seems like a weird place if that’s where the irritation. I also saw something online about pee rashes and he does pee on himself semi frequently. We thought about trying Benadryl but don’t want to make him sick or anything.
He’s a two year old heeler mix. Neutered and 40ish lbs. Located in Midwest USA.
