Picked this up yesterday and swapped in the EE-S focusing screen to make using the Milvus a little easier. These screens have become incredibly difficult to find and are nearly impossible to track down. I found a few available internationally, but the sellers were not willing to entertain shipping, so I was glad to finally get one.

I took the setup out for a few quick shots while grabbing a matcha tea. The Milvus is definitely a hefty lens for this body, but I love the way it renders, especially the smooth out of focus areas.

The difference between the EE-S and the standard screen feels subtle at first. The viewfinder is slightly darker, but it gives you much better separation between what is sharp and what is falling out of focus, making it easier to dial in exactly where you want the focus. I was a little concerned that shooting Zeiss manual focus lenses wide open would be difficult, but the EE-S screen really does make a noticeable difference.

Now I just need to find someone to photograph and see what this lens can really produce in a portrait session. I may also compare it with the Milvus 35mm f/2 on the 5D Classic to see how the two lenses render side by side.
