Seasonal hires should not be automatically sales associates

I work in a specialized department that needs extra training before someone is fully independent on the sales floor so have 4 new hires on the floor during a busy sale makes everything harder for full time sales associates.

We are wearing the hats of sales associate, extra assistant manager, and having to check new hires work so customers are happy. This affects our sales so much while seasonal hires just go from easy sale to easy sale while we get stuck with difficult customers.

Anniversary and holiday sales are always touted as ‘you will make so much money!’ But my best sales periods have always been outside of holiday or anniversary. We don’t need extra people running around the floor who don’t know what they’re doing, they should be doing go backs, clearing fitting rooms, and checking out customers for the actual sales associates instead of making us play baby sitter while our checks suffer.

The customer doesn’t get a good experience cause their ssa doesn’t have the knowledge that the ogs do, the OGs don’t get the sales we are promised, and the seasonal don’t want to come back cause being thrust into a busy sale with maybe three weeks of actual selling experience tops is a bad experience.
