Has youtube been using AI frame interpolation without anyone knowing?

I've noticed that for some videos, the frame rate seems a lot higher compared to what I remembered it to be, and when pausing I noticed smear frames in places where there shouldn't be any. Has there been any info about this or is it all in my head?
