Are backpack builds the new move for killers?

Just started playing more dead by daylight than usual and now am starting to play at higher ranks (however those work). I've now run into 3 killers in the last couple of games running what I think is called a backpack build. This includes Agitation, Mad Grit, and that one that lets you see aura reading on survivors when carrying. I wouldn't really think that hard about it, but I feel like its more common. Is it just me? Not really complaining about the build itself, except for the fact that without comms, it feels like its impossible for teammates to realize without taking 2 hits and putting us at an insane disadvantage.
