I had a Ragatha epiphany recently

This was part of a comment on another community, but I felt compelled to expanding it into its own post because I fully realized something I couldn't put into words until just now.

One thing that particularly irked me about the Last Act's reaction was the negative response to Ragatha and Pomni's scene. I'm not going to get into pacing because that's not too relevant for the point I'm going to make, but people argued these characters relationship was not deep enough to warrant this scene. Some people even make the argument that Pomni and Jax are the only characters with any weight in the story at all and that characters like Ragatha got sidelined and never had a proper development at all.

Here's my opinion: Ragatha having a small role was fine. And I say that as a big Ragatha fan. A big theme of the show is unrealized potential, most if not all of the characters have regrets regarding their accomplishments before and after joining the circus. Ragatha is a big example: she wants to help others as much as she can, but because of her people pleasing tendencies she becomes overwhelming. Which is a sad, but real experience many people have. Maybe she doesn't have a big contribution on the finale, maybe there's a missing scene where we see how she and Pomni make up after they say they're gonna make up, but again, I'm not gonna get into that because I don't care too much about that sort of detail.

However, people saying "oh, her hug with Pomni was undeserved" or "is she even her best friend?". I say, why the hell not???? Who if not Ragatha would be Pomni's best friend? Who else has been consistently there for Pomni, no matter the situation? Not Jax, not Zooble, not Gangle, Kinger one time when he was sound, but Ragatha always supported her the best she could. Ragatha recognized as the newest member, Pomni was the most vulnerable, *obviously* in those early episodes for one minute and she did her best to make sure she knew she could rely on her as much as possible.

Obviously, it's not like Pomni didn't value this, she was just practically cathatonic on those early episodes so she barely understood what Ragatha was trying to say or what her circumstances were. But after her talk with Kinger, it's obvious Pomni came to truly appreciate Ragatha. Yes, they had a fight when Pomni tried to warm up to Jax, but they made up, so it's fine. This is all *extremely* evident if you pay attention to the story and I shouldn't even have to recap such a surface simple storyline. Pomni claiming Ragatha is her best friend is wholesome at best and unoffensive at worst.

Of course she's her best friend, you dummy! Anyone who claims the opposite has clearly not been paying attention. Ragatha is sweet, well meaning, thoughtful, and the *only* circus member besides Pomni who there for everyone. 10/10 Rag Dolly, happy and smiling all day, a little Rag Dolly, wishing your worries away!!!!!
