How to connect when new in church

Hey all!

I started atrending a new church with my father in law. It has been about a month and a half. Its been fine so far, but he is in his 60s (has parkinsons...so isnt able to keep up with a lot of conversations) but I have connected with older men. Which they are great, but I'd like to connect with people my age also. But a lot of them havent reached out.

I dont say this to be judgemental (I grew up in the church as well so I get it). But it has been a while and I am the new person now. How could I connect with the younger guys when I am the new guy?
