Life is a cruel joke

We're born. We're biological machines governed by the laws of physics and chemistry. We have no free will. Our consciousness and emotions are nothing but a product of biochemistry. Some of us live great lives, others live horrible lives full of suffering and misery, and in the end we all die. And that's it.

Reality is not nice or fair. At all. And maybe what's worse is that we have brains that evolved to care about things like fairness, which makes reality even more bitter when you become a conscious atheist and realize there is zero justice in the universe and everything is ultimately meaningless.
