Here's my story.

So as a member of the very active nudist community here on Reddit, I often post photos of myself naked in public settings. As a, self proclaimed, naked adventurer, I am often seen in public by clothed people and, of course, by the people of the world wide web! I absolutely love showing the world the adventures I get up to.

One of the positives of my posts is that I often get messages from random people calling me an 'inspiration', 'brave' or asking how I 'do it'! Not a day goes by do I not get a message from, very often, men asking how to gain confidence in their bodies.

The truth is, it wasn't always this way and I wasn't born with confidence. In fact, throughout my teenage years I had body dysmorphia, crippling self doubt and self esteem issues and severe lack of confidence. This was due to constant belittlement by my step mother on a daily basis growing up. I went through a phase of hating every part of my body. My face, my weight, my shape, my size... Ah, my size caused me so much anxiety...

Luckily, I left home at 19 to make my own way and, to cut a long story short, I began claiming my confidence back bit by bit. I started learning not to hate myself and my body. I started praising myself on the bits of my body that I liked... And grew less critical on the bits that I didn't.

Then when my confidence grew enough, at 23, I decided to do something out of my comfort zone that would change my life, and mindset, forever. I decided to go to a nudist spa. It was a revelation. People with bodies of all shape and sizes that were so happy in themselves. It made me forget about my own insecurities and 'flaws' and I began to learn to love my body.

Ever since then I have been growing from strength to strength. At 46, I embrace the changes to my body and not hate myself for getting old. This is not to say I have eliminated all my insecurities. I still wish I had a bigger penis or more defined abs, that's human nature, but I just don't scold myself for not achieving those things!

I hope this will help someone out there struggling with body issues.
