Auction Resells
For context: I've done eBay on and off for 25+ years, mostly in the early 2000s, when I made decent side money selling used computer hardware. But not a lot since then. Have dabbled in online auction sites (though you do have to be careful), and have resold some stuff for decent money.
BUT: last week or so came across a large auction with a ton of medical equipment of all kinds--from dental to orthopedic to prenatal/OBGYN to podiatry. Initially looked at smaller items for shipping and storage reasons, and then it kinda grew from there. Some pretty specialized equipment. Much got outbid, which was fine. But I ended up winning way more than I expected...almost 100 lots.
But using average comps from eBay over past 90 days...conservatively could end up making close to 10x what I spent. And have an email out to a medical device reseller to get their interest and quote, which could save the hassle and time on eBay.
So if you're doing auctions for resell, don't be afraid of going outside your wheelhouse. Do homework, of course, but there's $ to be made.
