Mitochondria + Infuser

What is the proper way to infuse a mitochondria-powered weapon?

Is it:
mitochondria > infuser > weapon
or
infuser > mitochondria > weapon

I’m having trouble getting either to work or at least the arrows don’t seem to indicate it works.
