Jasmine has been a horrible partner AND a horrible friend.

Jasmine is not a good friend or a good partner, i know this will be downvoted but it needs to be said.

I wanted to like Jasmine but unfortunately she’s extremely male centred which opposes how she presents her self, she’s a “feminist” and a “man-hater” yet is extremely male-centred. In the first episode, Mica got a lot of attention from the guys especially Lorenzo and Jasmine was jealous, she’s redirected the attention from Mica to her by asking Lorenzo, Ope and Samraj if they’re “feeling her” which i thought was embarassing and pick me ish. She even flirted with Samraj without telling Mica which I thought was sneaky. She’s a very fake individual and only cares about how she is perceived, she’s wants to be perceived as a “baddie” who has men chasing her all the time which is not the case because she wouldn’t be single for all those years if that was the case. The way she treated Priya was also appalling and very disappointing, she uses Priya as a ploy and doesn’t see her as a person. She voices her opinions through her so she doesn’t get the heat.

She completely made up Julia calling Priya and Aidan when she never called them game players, this then escalated to Priya confronting her for saying that when it was Jasmine who started all this for no reason. She was sitting there silently at the dressing room knowing she started this whole confrontation which led to Julia crying. She made Julia cry for no reason. Jasmine is horrible.

Are we surprised though? She did say she loves the drama, even if it’s at the expense of other people’s feelings. She is a horrible human.

She is a bad friend because she deludes her friends instead of telling them the truth, like Julia does. She thinks she’s better because she “spreads positivity” when in reality she’s spreading delusion and lies. She was advocating for Priya and Aidan’s relationship just for them to be a friendship couple, Jasmine is scared of looking like a “hater” or not a girls girl that’s why. However, the true girls girl is Julia is because she actually BACKS WOMEN. Her words seem harsh but that’s because English isn’t her first language, Jasmine knows this yet misconstrued her words which is xenophobic.

The way Jasmine treated Kavan was APPALLING aswell. She constantly invalidated his feelings and everytime he came forward with his feelings, she would shut it down. This is why Kavan is currently walking on eggshells, he’s scared of making Jasmine upset because she will turn all the girls on him. Kavan is a 21 year old man who is insecure but that is due to his age, Jasmine is aware of the power imbalance so exploits his insecurities so she feels like she has the upper hand. Kavan simply doesn’t want drama that’s why he no longer confronts Jasmine about his issues because it will escalate as she will go and tell the girls and make him look like someone he’s not.

For example, when Aidan said it “looked like the girls were laughing at Charleen”, Kavan was on edge because he didn’t want Jasmine to blow up on him because of his own brother. He’s scared of fixing conflicts with Jasmine that’s why they will not work out because she’s too reactive and takes things too personal and escalates things.

People are saying Kavan doesn’t care about Jasmine but she doesn’t care about him. She only cares about his looks and how hot he is but she will throw him under the bus if necessary as long as she doesn’t look bad.

Jasmine has an image of herself that doesn’t exist and that’s why I can’t like her because she’s so fake, a horrible partner and a horrible friend.

People only like her because of her brand and her looks which is pathetic.

There are other islanders that are good people who deserve her popularity such as Ellie, Angelista and Yasmine, Julia also deserves so much love because she always backs the women in the show instead of the men which Jasmine DOESNT do.

In conclusion, Jasmine doesn’t deserve popularity or fame or even brand deals because the way she has treated everyone has been horrible. Even Lorenzo, an easy going individual doesn’t want to be with her and it says a lot. It also says a lot that Kavan wanted a break from her and was so happy pursuing Charleen and there’s also a reason Aidan warns his brother about her. Kavan is simply stuck with her and he clearly got the ick at movie night. He wanted to be with Charleen because he saw Jasmine for who she really was and was disgusted. Kavan and Charleen should’ve been together and I stand on that. People are blaming it on racism for the reason people don’t like Jasmine but that’s simply a cop-out so she isn’t held accountable so they’re blaming it on irrelevant factors. I am a black woman saying this and have no racism towards Asian.
