First night with 3 month kitten

General

I have adopted a 3 month old kitten, and the day has gone very great. I havent had pets for about 4 years before getting Orrin, but this little thing is absolutely afraid of nothing. Shes been very curious, not skittish at all around my toddler (the cat is in her own quiet room that he cannot get into without me or my husband). Quite honestly she has a very... No thoughts, head empty kinda look in her face so i am stuck between her being the bravest kitten i have ever seen or the most airheaded one 😭 anyway, the day has gone great she's had pretty much only happy curious tail or shes in the corner turning into mush but not letting me pet her while shes like that.

AAAANYWAY i wanted some feedback on my plan for the night. I can fully shut off the back half of my house (where the bedrooms are) so she doesnt wander into my living room and kitchen and craft/storage room. I have a gate that keeps my toddler out of the cat's room when i need to leave her door open and let the air circulate, and so far it has kept her in her room aswell. Do i think she wouldnt be able to hop it pretty easily? I dont see why she couldnt other than that she just doesnt know she can yet.

I was going to close the bedroom half of the house, close my son's door (i have a video monitor and have jammed his door so it closes but wont actually click, just gotta push it slightly and it pops right open) and crack our bedroom door. Leave the cat room open with the gate, so she could theoretically explore our hallway a bit without getting into any trouble. If she pushes our room door open she would ring a little bell i rigged onto my door and the sound wakes me from dead sleep.

She just got here but she seems so comfortable already, i want to give her the option to explore AND not have a toddler terrorize her (AKA while hes sleeping like a rock) but i also dont want to overwhelm her.

Sorry if this is hard to understand, i swear im not always using nothing but run-on sentences today has just been very... Strenuous, worth it but still strenuous. Thank you for your time :))
