looking for something similar to malevolent (horror podcast)

as the title reads, i’m looking for books featuring similar characters and/or the vibes of malevolent. particularly, characters with dynamics like arthur lester and john doe’s (regular human being and morally.. questionable monster/entity.)

bonus points for mystery or horror.
