dandruff after starting oral minox?

I've been taking oral minoxidil for like three days. Today I noticed flaking on my scalp. I washed my hair two days ago and used Nizoral (my derm said to wash with Nizoral 3x weekly) so dandruff shouldn't really happen. Is this a common experience? What can I do to prevent it?
