Has anyone else ever felt this way, or am I just being extra sensitive?

First, I want to be very clear: my husband is a fabulous dad. When he’s not working, he’s completely present. He’s an amazing partner, a hands-on father, and we truly tackle parenting together. I wouldn’t change that for the world.

That said, I work from home, so I’m with our daughter 24/7. I take her to every OT, PT, Speech, Play yherapy (she’s autistic), activity, doctor appointment, and evaluation. I arrange playdates, cook all of her meals(husband helps when he’s home), do her laundry, keep up with everything she needs, and honestly… I LOVE it. Being her mom is truly my greatest joy.

What gets to me is that my husband’s grandma constantly says things like, “She’s such a daddy’s girl,” or “Oh, (daughters name) just loves her daddy,” especially when talking to other family members. She’ll say it multiple times, but never says anything similar about me.

To be clear, I know my daughter loves both of us equally, and I love that she has such a wonderful relationship with her dad. This isn’t about jealousy or wanting to compete.

It just makes me feel invisible sometimes. Like people only notice and talk about their bond, and never acknowledge mine. I know that’s probably not what she means, but after hearing it over and over, it almost makes me feel like it looks as though I don’t have a close relationship with my own daughter, when in reality, we are extremely close.

Has anyone else ever felt this way? Is this just one of those things moms experience because our role is expected, or am I reading too much into it?
