RTX 2050 (GA107) dead on Fedora 44, kernel 7.0.x. Tried everything. Am I missing something?

NVIDIA 16/20xx

Laptop: ASUS TUF F15, Intel i5-11400H + NVIDIA RTX 2050 (GA107, PCI ID 10de:25ad), Optimus, no MUX. Running Fedora 44, GNOME on Wayland, btrfs, Secure Boot off, RPM Fusion configured.

dGPU has been non-functional for two months. Currently on iGPU only.

Two compounding bugs I've identified:

  1. Kernel 6.19+ / 7.0 regression. NVRM: RmInitAdapter failed with kgspAllocateScrubberUcodeImage NV_ERR_NOT_SUPPORTED on GSP init. Reproduces on both 580.x and 595.x drivers.
  2. 595 open module has a WPR2 cold boot bug. WPR2 already up, cannot proceed with booting GSP. Reproduces on kernel 6.18 LTS too, so independent of bug 1.

What I've tried:

  • Clean install of akmod-nvidia (595.x open) on kernel 7.0.x → bug 1
  • Downgrade to akmod-nvidia-580xx → bug 1, plus Xid 158 flush timeout
  • Manual src.rpm hack to force proprietary 580 module (added my PCI ID to nvidia-kmod-noopen-pciids.txt, rebuilt with akmodsbuild) → builds proprietary module, still bug 1 at runtime
  • kwizart/kernel-longterm-6.18 COPR + 595.80 → bug 2 (WPR2 on cold boot)
  • NVreg_EnableGpuFirmware=0, NVreg_OpenRmEnableUnsupportedGpus=0 kernel args → ignored, GSP required on Ampere
  • Disabling nvidia-powerd fixes the shutdown hang but doesn't help GPU init

What I think I need:

Either a 595.x point release that fixes the open module WPR2 bug (would let me run on 6.18 LTS), or a kernel 7.0.x backport of the GSP init fix, or rpmfusion restoring the noopen-pciids override so I can cleanly force the proprietary 580.

rpmfusion 595.80 dropped the override file. 7.0.13 released yesterday changes nothing relevant (AMDGPU and ARM64 fixes only).

Questions:

  • Anyone with GA107 specifically (not GA106 or GA104) running on Fedora 44 with working dGPU right now? What's your kernel and driver combo?
  • Anyone tracking an upstream patch or rpmfusion ticket for the WPR2 open module issue?
  • Is there a known-good kernel + driver pair I haven't tried? I'd accept downgrading to F43 if someone confirms a working combo on the exact GA107 die.

Happy to provide dmesg, journalctl, nvidia-bug-report.log on request. Not interested in .run installer suggestions or generic "reinstall akmod" advice. I've been deep in this for two months.

Thanks.
