UPS Driver will not do amazon return pickup

I've tried to do several amazon returns where the UPS driver brings the label and picks up the item from out in front of my garage, in plain view. He won't even come up my driveway. I do have a very long driveway, 1/3 of a mile, but it's paved and clean and no one else has a problem coming up here. He will deliver things, but won't pick up. Is this normal?
