Repetitive projects never get faster with experience. In fact, they usually take longer after the first pass.
When people say there’s a learning curve and things get faster with time? Yeah, that never happens to me. I have absolutely no idea what that feels like. Especially when things may fall under the same umbrella, but each version is custom. Every time it’s like it’s the first time I’m doing something; or, worse, every time I do something repetitive, it takes longer and longer because now I’m more informed about it, or something comes up I haven’t tackled before that’s only relevant to this specific pass and I have to devote a whole bunch of time to learning that never to need it again. Doesn’t matter if I set up templates or whatnot, it doesn’t get any faster and I never become master at anything as a result, and only get slower as I get more tired, hyperfocus on my errors, or run into road blocks / more complex problems. And even if I get slightly confident in something, then life changes and I have to learn something entirely new.
There is no “faster” for me. Life is just one giant, confusing string of, “Why is this taking me so long?!” for someone with my ADHD brain.
