Opinions on bathing cats?

I give my short hair a bath about every 2-3 months he enjoys it well enough and he never really needs them anymore when he was a kitten he needed a flee bath every other week and a little later he had stud tail before I got him fixed. I was wondering what other people think about it? I understand he doesn't need them but I have special shampoo to help his coat and he smells even better after a bath.
