asking for phone number

I was folding my laundry at the laundromat. a guy kept asking me for my phone number. I told him I don’t date or need a new friend. he asked again. I said no. he asked if I am married. I said that’s personal, I won’t answer. He has an accent and his English wasn’t very good. I couldn’t just leave. he asked several more times. I think it was 8 times.

I ended up telling him he’s too old for me. picked up my laundry and left. how do you get someone to stop asking for your phone number?
