Backcountry touring /guided options for single snowboarder?
I'm taking my first trip to Niseko (Grand Hirafu area) the first week of February. I'll be traveling with my wife who is an intermediate skier, not really comfortable in deep snow. We've booked a ski-in-ski-out hotel, and she's happy to have a slow start to the day while I go chase first tracks and regroup for some cruisey runs later in the day. I'd like to do at lease one full day of guided backcountry riding - either lift assisted around Niseko, cat skiing (is that a thing there?) or splitboarding - possibly summiting Yotei.
Most of the guides that I'm looking at price there trips at like $1k for a group of 4 or 5. Has anyone had any luck in a similar position joining up with a small group to make this financially feasible? Or know of a guide operation that will put together groups of individuals?
