Has anyone ever overstayed a day or two by mistake? Was anything said or any action taken by the immigration authorities? I just realized I did that.
I was on a recent flight home and started going through my passport pages. One entry stood out, it was circled with a short note written in Thai. I looked closer and realized I had stayed 31 days on a 30 day visa having counted the days wrong upon booking. A light bulb went off and it explained the immigration agent taking my passport to the back and conferring with other officials on that departure. Nothing was said to me and I didn’t think twice about it and headed home. I’ve been back twice since and nothing’s changed, they don’t ask me a single question and I’m in. Ive had a home near BK for 25 year, my wife is Thai and I’ve visited a couple dozen times. Anyone have any juicy horror stories to tell about what I could have missed out on?
