Building Something That Lasts: Our Plan for This Community
We've been part of (and watched) a lot of local communities over the years, and the same thing keeps happening: a group starts strong, gets some momentum, and then slowly fades. They get overrun by lurkers, spam, drama, or just apathy, until there's nothing left. We're tired of watching that cycle repeat, and we don't want it to happen here.
So here's our plan. As we build up a solid base of approved, verified members, we're going to make this subreddit private. Once that happens, only approved members will be able to see posts. This isn't about being exclusive for its own sake; It's about protecting the quality and safety of the space. A private, verified community means:
- Real people, real couples. Not bots, not randoms, not people just here to lurk
- A drama-free space, because everyone here has a stake in keeping it that way
- Actual discretion for a topic that deserves it
What this community is for:
This is a resource, not a content dump. Think of it as the hub for the Northern California lifestyle community. A place to:
- Find and connect with other verified couples
- Post and discover events, munches, and meetups
- Share and ask about clubs, venues, and locations
- Post honest reviews of places and events
- Ask questions, get advice, and talk openly about the lifestyle itself
What this community is not:
This isn't a porn subreddit, and it never will be. We don't want anonymous NSFW dumping. This is about building real connections and a real local network. The conversations, the resources, and the people behind them. If you are a couple that had a good time at an event and want to post a picture capturing that excitement; Go for it!
We're doing this because we want something that's still here in five years, not something that burns out in five months. Verification and eventually going private are how we protect that.
Thanks for being here early, and thanks for helping us build this the right way.
