You think you can just finish out your contract and walk away? Don't be silly
Another typical customer experience, as shared on Aptive's Better Business Bureau page, which as of this writing has about 1,400 complaints from people who Aptive has tried to scam:
I satisfied the term of my contact with Aptive, paid it in full and asked them to cancel my contract. On January 29, 2026 I received a reminder of upcoming appointment. I called and reminded them that I had cancelled my contract and no service is needed. I also emailed them to cancel the service on same day. Since then, I have been billed for $199 and they sent it to collection for a service I never received or authorized. The true nature of dispute is that Aptive Environment is trying to collect a fee for a service not authorized or performed. I had called and explained this multiple times. They keep billing me monthly.
It's very telling that this person contacted Aptive multiple times by calling and over email, and still the company chose to keep trying to shake him down for money, even sending false bills to collections. Their company culture is one where customers are not human beings. They want to squeeze as much money as possible out of you.
