What font do I print my book in?

It's a fantasy book taking place in the 1800s, I think Merriweather would fit it's vibe well, Libre Baskerville would, too. Which should I pick? Unless you have more suggestions. Also, there are parts where letters are typed out, should those be in cursive like how the people back then would write or should it be in the same font the rest of the book is being printed in? I think it'd be cool to change it but i'm scared my readers won't understand :/ Unless the cursive isn't *that* bad, like Dancing Script for example.
