jobs while being in uni

Hello, I've been trying to find different jobs all summer, but the job market has been really tough. I'm just wondering, what kind of jobs do you do while you're in college? I'm starting university this year, so I'm trying to figure everything out, but I need to find a way to earn some money. I've applied to several jobs and gone to interviews, but it seems like someone’s family member always gets hired before anyone else. So, I came here to ask what types of jobs people do while they're in college.
