Interesting (and heartbreaking) case of PPP.
Trigger warning. Child death
Dena Schlosser was found not guilty by reason of insanity after she >!cut the arms off of!< her 10 month old daughter, Margaret.
She’d been diagnosed with bipolar disorder with psychotic features at some earlier point and then PPP during the trial for Margaret’s death.
The day after Margret was born she tried to commit suicide. She was investigated by CPS and wasn’t allowed to be alone with the children. Her sister in law came to live with them until the order was lifted. At some point after she killed her daughter.
She was committed to a state hospital for 4ish years. When she was released it was ordered she take her medication, see a psychologist once a week and be on birth control.
I’ve seen different accounts that she was in and out of the hospital and was recommitted in 2020.
There’s more to this story but that’s a brief account.
(Sorry if this has been discussed. I did a search and didn’t see anything about it.)
