Possibly lost mucous plug or part of it?

So just going to preface this is going to be TMI BUT I would love to know similar experiences!

Last night I went to the bathroom and I noticed I had a LOT of discharge, more than normal. I’ve been experiencing this on and off for the past 2-3 weeks with a slight yellow tint occasionally and my doctor suggested I was beginning to lose my mucous plug, so I was like okay whatever. As I continued wiping I definitely discovered something new that I hadn’t seen before. The third wipe looked to be, in the only way I can describe it, like pulling snot out of my vagina, a decent amount of it in different strands.

I have NEVER in my life experienced that. I wiped up a few more times to make sure I got it all because I didn’t want to leave any part of me damp (ew) especially if it was part of or my mucous plug which is what I’m thinking.

As of my last appointment I was 0.5cm dilated (I know, not a lot, but a start) so I’m hoping that things are progressing.

Does anyone have a similar experience so I don’t feel totally nasty? Lol. I go back to my OB in 2 days so I’ll be bringing it up then as well and will have another cervical check then too.
