Romance/dating

I am trying to make this post with little to no spoilers. I had a question about dating in this game. I am currently dating 4 individuals and I keep having to do the same dates for each individual. With one individual we always do pottery. With another it is always embroidery etc. Is this how dating on this game is intended to be or are the dates supposed to be different every time you go out with the same person? I hope this made sense.
