Hi guys,

A few days ago, I posted about my 3 year old, female rescue cat who wont stop meowing, Patch. My partner and I read the replys and are super grateful for the help. Unfortunatly, Patch won't be getting a friend right now but we have tried to impliment a few of the suggestions.

For the first night, she was meowing just downstairs but every night since, she comes upstairs and meows all night long. We have started leaving our door is open so she can come inside but she chooses to meow at our door frame and at the foot of our bed. She will even put her front paws up on our bed to gain height and meow at us. She is not scared to enter the room. We were suggested to carry her to bed with us. Any time we move while shes upstairs, she runs to the back of the washing machine (her safe spot, we have pulled it out a little bit and put a blanket behind it). I go pick her up from the washine machine, either by bribing with food or just slowly grabbing her (depending on how long she has been meowing and how much patience I have left). A few nights ago, I brought her to bed myself as we thought she was scared to jump up, shes loudly purring and sleeping like a baby next to our heads for 3 hours. Then she gets up and starts loudly meowing on the floor. WHY?! Last night, she was jumping on the bed while we were scrolling before we sleep so we know shes not scared to jump on the bed. In the morning, I find her and bring her to bed with us so we can have a morning scroll together and she will stay in bed for hours after we leave. But now whenever we want to hang out with her during the day after she has put herself behind the washing machine, again, she treats us like its her first day here, full hiding and wont even get treats, looks at us with fear in her eyes. But at night when we're on the couch, she is completly fine again and curls up next to us. Shes so bipolar.

Basically our night is, shes comes out to eat dinner while we eat, she curls up on couch while we watch tv. When we go to bed she start howling and wont stop. Meows upstairs, downstairs, in our room. When we approach her, she runs. Its like shes created a fun game 'meow and run' all night.

After her running away for the 30th time, we have started shutting the door and shoving towels under to block the noise. While we try to sleep, she meows the entire night.

We took her to the vet a week ago for a check-up. She started meowing the night she got home and hasnt stopped since. Thank you for listening to my troubles. From here, there are 2 course of actions I can think of.

1. Take her back to the vet and get her on Prozac for high anxiety. My high anxiety dog has been on Prozac for years and she is much happier now that she isnt stressed and barking all the time. We assume the same is for Patch.

2. Endure the meowing and hope she stops.

If there is anything else that we can try, please let us know!! Thank you again if you made it this far, I appricate the help!
