Dating a Leo

I am a January Cap and my boyfriends a July Leo and things have been rocky to say the least... I know we love eachother deeply but we can't express that to eachother in a way we both need. Its just hard. He complains about my lack of emotion when in my head, I've shown him more depth than I have even my closest friends and family im recent years. Anybody have advice? I've hardly even befriended Leos in my lifetime so I'm struggling to know how to deal with this guy.
