needing advice on what specs to look for in a laptop

I want a laptop for work/school *and* casual gaming (minecraft, the isle, phototnomaly- occasionally online/multiplayer)

I know I want at least 16gb RAM,

but that's it...

what processor should I be looking for? processor speed?

is intel i5/i7 better for multitasking and gaming than AMD ryzen 5/7?

is 2.1 GHz enough speed for what I need?

and what frame rates should I be looking for?

any advice is welcome, I know little to nothing about tech and havent even considered looking at a new laptop in over 10yrs!
