After a very long journey of trying to understand deen, I'm leaving. I'm sorry.
I don't mean to offend anyone, so no need to call me names or thrash my humanity.
I'm not going to defend myself either, I realize it's very unfortunate, maybe I'll find my way back, but it hurts too much right now.
I had already made my decision but I was still going back and forth with it I'm not going to lie, until I read this post:
"My husband does not let me go on girls trips abroad and by girls trips I mean with my sisters as he said I need a mehram. Cool I accepted this and do not go on any holidays with my sisters, I just have to watch them go without me.
But now my sisters and best friends want to do a day trip to Paris. I live in England and Paris is 1 hour flight away. I’ll be back on the same day. He has an issue with this because it’s a day trip to another country.
I am allowed to do day trips in the Uk but because it’s a day trip to France it’s a problem.
I am really struggling I’m not even going to lie. He is saying I can go but he will be really upset and unhappy permanently and I don’t want him to ice me out or argue.
I just feel so trapped. I miss out on so much since getting married. Why is it so bad for me to go on a day trip with my sisters and friends. I told him I would give him all the flight information and he knows every person going. I said I will keep him posted and update him.
I just feel suffocated and it’s making me miss my single life when i had independence and didn’t feel like a trapped child."
It's not just a post, I have seen this happening in reality where women have to adjust a lot to make it convenient for their husbands because it's obviously a straight order from deen, I get it. But it's overbearing honestly. Women who do it happily, kudos to them, I wish I could understand that too, but perhaps, I failed.
Reading this post and realizing this is simply deen, a depressing wave hit me.
I'm sorry if I offended anyone. And I don't mean to influence anyone either. Take your time and research about things. I have found that for some women, submitting to these rules and abiding by these restrictions is as easy as breathing air, and I admire their strength, but sadly I'm not one of them and I don't aspire to be.
And I'd also like to clarify that this was not the only reason why I stand where I stand today with my views, so kindly don't assume stuff.
