# Sniper Changes:

 General Changes:

* Headshots now deal minicrits instead of crits
* Base damage across all snipers increased from 50-->65
* Charge now scales from 3X base dmg to 2X base dmg (150-->130)
* All rifles now have a clip size and reload. Base clip size is 5. Reload speed works similar to scouts scatter gun where each shot is reloaded 1 at a time and is around the same speed as scouts at base speed
* Rifles start with 15 ammo in reserve and 5 loaded in the gun

Weapon Specific Changes:

# Sydney Sleeper:

* Can headshot
* No longer reduces the cooldown of Jarate
* No longer applies Jarate on non headshots
* Headshots always apply Jarate for 3.5 seconds
* \-15% bodyshot dmg penalty
* Removed +25% charge bonus
* \+35% Primary ammo on wearer (20 total)

*Notes:* i feel like the the sydney has the potential to be a very good team support weapon overall but jarate is a very strong effect, so making the sydney a skillbased team supportive weapon seemed like a fun idea. but as fun an idea having this weapon synergize with jarate is, jarate as a whole doesn't need it due to how strong minicrits on targets of your choice is.

# Machina:

* Now can be charged without being scoped in by holding down primary fire
* Does not automatically start charging when zoomed.
* Can no longer headshot
* as the weapon charges, the barrel of the gun gets a team colored charge up particle effect that increases in size as weapon charges
* Fully charged shots consume 5 ammo
* \-50% charge up speed
* \-15% reload speed
* \+30% dmg bonus while fully charged
* Now applies Afterburn depending on the charge level (no charge=no afterburn) (1 second at lowest possible charge to 5 seconds at max charge)
* Fully charged shots penetrate players and damage enemies behind them.
* Fully Charged Shots create a bright, easily traceable team-colored line behind them that lingers in place for 5 seconds
* Removed Only fires when zoomed.

*Notes:* fully embracing this weapons reputation of being a body shot machine and turning it into a high power, heavy dmg sniper that trades headshots for the ability to hit multiple enemies at once and apply defuffs that other classes can take advantage of to add a small amount of teamwork. of course the drawback being that once u fire a heavy shot, EVERYONE will know where u are and will know for a decent amount of time, giving the enemy team the ability to track u down and stop u before you fire the next shot

# Hitman's Heatmaker:

When Focus is active:

*  Doesn't unscope between shots.
*  removed +25% faster charge rate.
* \+15% firing speed
* \+20% reload speed
*  Shots leave a bright, easily traceable team-colored line behind them.

*Notes:* the general nerfs alone nerf this weapon heavy enough alr, so i decided to keep it basically the same and just slightly change the focus buff to make the weapon feel kinda like a hype mode for sniper. the goal of the firing speed buff is to allow the sniper to hit headshots and follow up with a body shot to kill light classes quickly only while in focus mode, but while also allowing a small space of time for the enemy to react and potentially get away or get healed so the mode doesn't cause insta death any time its active.

# The Classic:

* Does not automatically start charging when zoomed.
* Hold down fire button to charge, release to fire.
* Doesn't unscope between shots.
* Can charge without zooming.
* Cannot headshot.
* No random crits while in sniper mode
* \-20% damage penalty on body shot.
* Shots leave a dim, clear line behind them.
* Shots that hit the enemies legs will apply the slow effect for 3 seconds
* Can Toggle an alternate fire mode
* \+500% primary ammo on wearer (75 max reserve ammo)

While in Alternate firing mode:

* Swaps to an automatic firing mode
* Ammo clip becomes bottomless Deals 6.5 dmg per shot with slight bullet spread and falloff
* \+15% move speed while firing
* random crits allowed in assault rifle mode

*Notes:* thought it would be cool to make the weapon more like tf classic sniper and still be unique since the machina would also gain the hold to charge mechanic. the gun now has combo potential where u hit a charged shot on an enemies legs, swap to assault and light em up, but due to snipers low ammo capacity even with 500% extra, u gotta manage ur ammo and hit your shots well while also putting yourself in danger being close enough to your target to effectively light them up. due to potentially running out of ammo, it could even pair with the smgs to continue dealing damage.

# Bazaar[ ](https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Bazaar_Bargain)Bargain:

* Each headshot kill increases the weapon's clip count by 1 (max of 5).
* Each headshot kill increases the weapon's charge speed by 15% (max of 75%)
* Each rifle kill increases the weapon's reload speed by 15% (max of 75%)
* Each rifle kill increases the weapon's damage by 4% (up to 20%)
* At 5 kills in a single life reached, scoped shots leave a dim, clear line behind them
* \-50% reload speed penalty.
* \-50% charge speed penalty.
* kills are tracked by 2 different counters, Head and Kills
* Heads are added on headshot kills
* Kills apply to both headshots and body only while using the rifle
* Heads reset on respawn
* Heads transfer to other snipers the same way the eyelander does and are added to the kill counter as well

*Notes:* ive always like the idea of a buildup weapon for sniper and the bargain was the perfect fit for one, but the weapons stats were always kinda boring over other interesting snipers you could choose from. with this stat line the bargain is basically a skilled snipers dream, rewarding a player for not only getting kills with the weapons initial drawbacks, but playing smart enough to keep themselves alive the use their bonuses.

# Huntsman:

* Headshot damage reduced from 150–360 --> 125-310

*Notes:* imma be honest im just gonna leave this one be but just make it so a tap fire headshots cant kill 150 hp classes but can still quickly stop rushing scouts

# SMG, Cozy Camper, and Jarate

* will leave the same as they are currently.

*Notes:* further down i'll be nerfing the bushwacka so the jarate bush combo wont allow sniper to 1 shot people anymore. and the smg will have some potential synergy with some of the sniper changes since you'll encounter alot more situations where enemies survive shots with little hp. *also all my homies love the cozy camper*

# The Razorback:

*  When killed by any means, explodes jarate in a small range that coats enemies for 10 seconds, extinguishes allies, and still temporarily stuns the spy if backstabbed
*  Does not prevent the sniper from dying to the backstab
* \+15% primary ammo on wearer (+3 total)

*Notes:* honestly i have no idea how to do this one well. all i know is that a sniper shouldnt be able to fully counter his counter by simply equipping an item. **Piss Explosion** i guess.

# Darwin's Danger Shield:

* \+50% melee damage while under water
* \+20% move speed while wet or under water
* Regen 3hp/s while underwater
* immune to drowning

*Notes:*
**Sees pyro shark:** "Finally a worthy opponent...OUR BATTLE WILL BE LEGENDARY!"

# Cleaner's Carbine:

*  Dealing damage charges a "Crikey" meter.
*  Alt Fire When Charged: Mini-crits for 8 seconds.
*  Mini-crits apply to all weapons.
* Loses dmg penalty while crikey is active
* Firing speed penalty reduced to -10% while crikey is active
*  \-20% firing speed.
* \-10% dmg penalty. (7 dmg per shot compared to smg's 8 per shot)

*Notes:* slightly lowered the firing speed penalty and replaced the clip size penalty with a dmg penalty only while crikey is active to encourage snipers using this to choose between a mini crit boosted smg or using the crikey on their other weapons.

# Tribleman's Shiv:

*  On hit: causes wound for 12 seconds.
*  Deals 80% less damage.
* wound deals 7dmg/s but can random crit and minicrit

*Notes:* "Buffed"

# Bushwacka:

*  mini-crits whenever it would normally crit.
*  Raises damage vulnerability by 20% while active.
* 1.5x random crit chance

*Notes:* "Lets go gambling!"

# Shahanshah:

*  \+25% increase in damage when primary ammo is less than 75% of max.
*  –25% decrease in damage when primary ammo is more than or equal to 50% of max.
* Decapitation: Melee kills gain heads

*Notes:* sniper is alr squishy enough that most engagements result with you either fully dead or at a large amount of your health bar so tieing the damage to that feels wrong. also figured i'd add a lil synergy with the bazaar since its part of the set n all.

Alr thats everything. just a reminder im a nobody who had a list of stupid ideas so dont take everything i said here too seriously. im curious what everybody thinks about some of these changes.

i was tired and had one of those sleepy moments of inspiration about rebalancing sniper. im curious what people would think of these changes.
