HMO+FSA or HDHP+HSA?
I've been debating about this and have talked to AI. But AI seems to flip-flop a lot depending on what information I give it. I'm trying to get some other input people that are smarter than me and AI to see if I should stick with HMO+FSA+Brokerage.
I have about 10 or 20 years before retirement. It really depends on what my money would look like 10 years from now and if I don't want to work anymore.
So far, no plans of moving out of state during retirement, so state taxes will still apply.
Details of the plan:
HMO+FSA
HMO: $0/month premium
FSA: $1.5K/yr - Can rollover unused funds
Medical-related supplies: $0/yr since covered by insurance
Medical/Vision/Dental-related costs: ~$1K/yr (using FSA)
State taxes: FSA contributions are deducted from my income.
HDHP+HSA
HDHP: ~$100/month premium
HSA: $4.4K/yr (~$1.3K/yr employer contribution)
Medical-related supplies: ~$1K/yr
Vision/Dental-related costs: ~$1K/yr
State taxes: HSA contributions are not deducted from my income. The gains and dividends are taxed.
Deductible: $1,750/yr
Out-of-pocket maximum: $3,750/yr
