Just got my diagnosis , idk how to feel
I know there is probably about a million posts about this but I don’t have the time to scroll through years worth of advice
This is mainly regarding that I could potentially have a heart problem that I’m still waiting information on, so I may never be able to be medicated
Yesterday I was diagnosed with inattentive adhd which shocked me, as I was extremely hyper active and “a bit much” as a child and teen but I’ve mellowed out as an adult
ADHD is something I tried to get diagnosed with when I was 14 through my school but they couldn’t offer me the opportunity, doctors said it would be a 7 year waiting list so I gave up until now, my diagnosis took less than a month through right to choose Psychiatry UK (less than a month, how insane is that? After putting it off for almost 10 years) but now I’m diagnosed I kind of just feel empty and I’m not sure why? Like my entire life knowing I was different and wanting to desperately know why, now I know why because of an hour phone call, I can’t really explain the feeling but I’m sure it’s common
And that dreaded moment on the phone “we won’t be able to medicate you at all if you have heart problems “ honestly felt like a bullet to my chest, i’m not loosing all hope yet, but There’s a chance I’m just going to be like this forever with no medication? I’ve been in a slumped depression since yesterday
I don’t need anything particular in the comments, just your experience, maybe some tips and advice , or nothing! Just need to rant really
