Contacting moderators advice

I’ve stumbled across a user I think is using AI but I’d like to contact before I report just to make sure, it says the modmail inbox is closed right now on the site, does anyone know how long this usually lasts and if I should wait for it to be available, or should I try and contact through discord? :-(
