1v1 gamemode?

I dont understand the 1v1 gamemode.

To preface ive only played it once and it was on accident. I did well, got to 3-1 and the dude left but I just felt very confused the entire time.

Is there some honor system that im supposed to follow or some unwritten rules? Can I just go trap operators and be a coward? Should I rush or play slow?

Idk if its my perception of the game or not but it just feels like a very weird and unnatural gamemode.

(This is not a complaint or criticism. Im just really confused and curious)
