I really don't like my dog

I got a 1 year old chocolate lab a month ago and I really don't like him. I don't like dogs and I really hate owning one especially him. He's an anxious dog and he's too high energy and my bf undermines every decision I try to make in regards to him and his family keeps making suggestions that I also don't agree with (everyone wants us to get our ANXIOUS REACTIVE dog a shock collar. That's stupid) and I'm just too overwhelmed with trying to train the dog the right way with nobody on my side. I would re-home the dog in a heartbeat if my bf would be open to it but he's apparently attached already and the dogs attached to me he's up my ass and I was complaining about it and my bfs mother said oh it's because he loves you and I wanted to just say I wish he didn't because the feeling isn't mutual. I don't understand dog people, I don't understand at all what the appeal of having a dog. They're annoying to train and then why would you want an animal thats just completely obedient? I have a cat and I love her. She does her own thing minds her own business she loves me but she's not following me around and begging for attention constantly. I really don't like my dog and I don't want him or any dog.
